SG Fleet New Zealand is a proud sponsor of the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust

14 Jun 2022

SG Fleet New Zealand is the vehicle sponsor of the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (ARHT), supplying a small fleet of essential vehicles that will assist them with their vital work.

The ARHT is a charitable trust that owns and operates the Auckland-based Westpac Rescue Helicopters on behalf of the community it serves.

"We are proud to support the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (ARHT) with the supply of these new vehicles,” said Geoff Tipene, Managing Director of SG Fleet New Zealand. “Key to ARHTs operations, these vehicles have each been specifically chosen for the tasks that they will perform. For example, the two Rapid Response Vehicles (RRVs) will enable ARHT to not only provide essential emergency services from the air, but also on the ground.”

SG Fleet’s sponsorship of ARHT is an extension of their current agreement with NEST - Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST). “We have always been pleased to support NEST and to help them provide essential emergency services to those living in Northland. It is a great privilege to now extend that support to ARHT and the wider Auckland region, doing our bit to ensure this important service is available to more members of our communities.”

The ARHT was established 32 years ago and since then the charity has been tasked with over 20,000 thousand missions and is internationally recognised for its pioneering work in saving lives.

Their suite of rescue helicopters includes two state-of-the-art Leonardo AW-169 helicopters and one BK-117 helicopter. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They watch over more than 1.5 million residents and visitors across the Greater Auckland, Hauraki Gulf and Coromandel regions and are staffed full-time by a highly experienced flight crew consisting of Pilots, Pre-Hospital and Retrieval Medicine Doctors, Air Crew Officers and Critical Care Paramedics.

With the support of the families, community organisations and businesses such as SG Fleet, both ARHT and NEST can continue their ongoing mission - saving lives.
