This Applicant Privacy Statement applies to the personal information you provide to us in connection with your application for a job with SG Fleet Group Pty Limited or one of our related entities (SG Fleet). SG Fleet will handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (in Australia) and the Privacy Act 2020 (in New Zealand), and its Privacy Policy.
This Statement may be updated from time to time.
1. What kinds of personal information do we collect?
We collect information provided by you in connection with your application, including:
(a) Name, address, email address and other contact information;
(b) Confirmation of your right to work;
(c) Information contained in your CV, including relating to references; and
(d) Any other information you provide us with in relation to your application.
Any information you provide must be true, complete and not misleading. Providing inaccurate, incomplete or misleading information may lead to a rejection of your application during the application process or disciplinary action including immediate termination of employment. In addition, it is your responsibility to ensure that information you provide does not violate any third party’s rights.
If you provide us with personal information of another individual (such as a referee) as part of your application, it is your responsibility to obtain that individual’s consent before providing that information to us.
2. How do we collect your personal information?
SG Fleet and its service providers collect personal information in several ways, including:
(a) through the Careers page on SG Fleet’s website (Careers Site), when you submit your CV or apply for a job;
(b) otherwise, when you post us your CV or provide personal information over the phone or by email;
(c) from other sources, including LinkedIn, Seek and recruitment agencies, your referees, and for the purpose of pre-employment background checks if required in connection with your application;
(d) through cookies and similar technologies used on the Careers Site – please see our Privacy Policy for more information.
3. How do we use your personal information?
It will be used to:
(a) process your application;
(b) assess your capabilities and qualifications for a job;
(c) perform reference checks;
(d) communicate with you; and
(e) perform pre-employment background checks, if required.
It may also be used for other purposes, with your consent.
4. Who has access to your personal information?
Access to your personal information will be restricted to personnel who will use the information for the purposes set out in this Statement, including personnel in the human resources and information technology departments, and in the department responsible for your interview and/or for the position for which you are applying.
SG Fleet may also disclose personal information to its service providers as required for the services they provide, such as recruitment assistance and background check processing.
5. How long will we keep your data?
If you commence employment with us, the personal information we collect in connection with your application will become part of your employee record with SG Fleet and used for employment-related purposes.
If your job application is unsuccessful, we will keep your data for 12 months before deleting it.
6. How do we secure your data?
We take steps reasonable in the circumstances to prevent any misuse, interference or loss, unauthorised access, modification to or disclosure of your personal information and to keep it secure. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.
