Registration renewal

For maximum convenience, SG Fleet can manage your vehicle’s registration renewals.

Select your state below to learn more.

NSW

If your vehicle is registered in NSW, SG Fleet can make payment for your registration renewal directly. A copy of your renewal notice is not required.

Please note: a compulsory third party (CTP) insurance policy is required with a vehicle’s registration. Payment for your registration can only be made once a CTP insurance policy has been purchased. If SG Fleet is renewing your registration directly, we will use Allianz for your CTP insurance policy. If you wish to use an alternate CTP insurance provider, please advise us as soon as possible. However, you will need to pay for registration and CTP yourself and then claim for reimbursement.

A safety inspection report (pink slip) is also required every 12 months if your vehicle is 5 years or older. We will send further communication regarding your pink slip closer to your registration due date. We recommend getting the safety inspection booked in with an Authorised Inspection Scheme (AIS) station as soon as possible to avoid delays.

Registration renewal FAQs

Unfortunately, this is not possible as we have a relationship with Allianz. If you have an alternate provider you wish to use, please advise us as soon as possible. However, please note you will need to pay for registration and CTP yourself and then claim for reimbursement.
Unfortunately, we are unable to pay registration renewals that are less than 12 months. If you would like to renew your registration for a shorter period of time, you will need to pay this yourself and then claim for reimbursement. Please advise us as soon as possible to ensure there is no double up in payment.
Yes, we would greatly appreciate it if you do decide to make payment yourself. This ensures there is no double-up on payment and we can update our systems accordingly. We regularly conduct regular audit checks on unregistered vehicles, which may flag your vehicle if our system is not updated with the correct information.
If you live in NSW, CTP is separate to registration and needs to be paid prior to renewing a registration. If SG Fleet have advised that we will pay your registration, we will also pay CTP through Allianz on your behalf.
If you live in any state or territory outside of NSW, CTP is automatically included in your registration renewal.
SG Fleet will send you an email 6 weeks prior to your registration due date with an update.
If we have advised we can make payment, there is nothing further you will need to do. Sit back, relax and wait for confirmation this has been paid.

If we have advised we cannot make payment, there will be further instructions in the email regarding next steps.
Once we have paid your registration renewal, we will send you a confirmation email.
You will be able to see the transaction in your package account, and on the state transport authority website that your vehicle has been renewed.
If you have paid registration directly, you can simply login to your online account and submit a reimbursement request. We will require a copy of the receipt, or proof of payment to be able to reimburse you.
Please note: there must be sufficient funds in your account prior to submitting the reimbursement.
If there has been a double payment to your registration renewal, you will need to contact your state transport authority to obtain a refund on the amount you have paid. As SG Fleet is a ‘third party’, it is difficult for us to request this directly.
If there are not enough funds in your package account to support your registration payment, please pay this directly yourself to ensure that your vehicle is registered.

You can then reach out to our Fund Management Team here, who will be able to assist with altering your budgets to ensure there are future funds for reimbursement of registration and any other upcoming expenses.
In the unfortunate event that your vehicle is unregistered, please do not drive the vehicle until it has been registered again. If your vehicle is not registered, it means that your insurance has also lapsed, which poses a great risk if you were to drive the vehicle.
