Sienna Morris
Digital Intern
I studied at the University of Technology Sydney and completed a Bachelor of Business majoring in management and sub majoring in Finance and Marketing.
During my internship at SG Fleet, I worked within the Digital team on the Voice of Customer program. I collaborated with teams across Australia and New Zealand to implement and improve feedback systems. My key responsibilities included building and maintaining survey mechanisms using Dynamics Customer Voice and implementing automated workflows with Power Automate to streamline feedback collection and integration. I also analysed customer feedback data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. This experience gave me practical exposure to stakeholder engagement, process optimisation, and applying AI to enhance customer experience.
The most exciting work I’ve contributed to since joining was applying both Agentic AI and automation technologies within the Voice of Customer program. I was involved in designing and prototyping intelligent agents that performed automated feedback analysis and dynamic prompt generation, an entirely new and rewarding challenge that deepened my understanding of AI-driven customer insight. Moreover, I used Power Automate to streamline survey workflows and automate the integration of feedback into Dynamics 365, significantly improving operational efficiency. This project gave me a clearer view of how Agentic AI and automation can enhance customer experience and enable smarter, more responsive reporting.
Broden Suffern
Software Engineer, Information Technology Intern
I studied at the University of Sydney and completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science and Finance.
As an Information Technology intern at SG Fleet, I worked across the full technology stack contributing to our digital platform. My role involved both front-end and back-end development, with a focus on modernizing our applications and improving our development processes. My key responsibilities include developing React-based front-end features, building and maintaining API endpoints, and implementing DevOps practices to streamline our deployment processes. Day-to-day, I wrote code across multiple technologies, participated in code reviews, and collaborated with team members on technical solutions. I also learnt about cloud infrastructure and CI/CD practices through hands-on implementation of DevOps pipelines.
The most exciting work was designing and implementing a new microservice using publish-subscribe architecture. This project challenged me to think about distributed systems design and event-driven communication patterns, which was a completely new territory for me. What made it particularly engaging was the opportunity to build something from the ground up. I learned about message queues, event handling, and how to design loosely coupled services that can scale independently.

Credit Intern
I am currently studying at the university of Technology Sydney (UTS). I have been studying a business degree majoring in finance, with sub majors in accounting and marketing.
I am a finance intern in the credit department. In this role I help assist the novated credit team to assess credit applications within our policy. I partner and interact with sales team to ensure compliance of applicants and also provide day to day support to the credit manager, assisting additional related tasks.
Since joining SG fleet the work offered has been diverse and enjoyable. I have found the most exciting work be my involvement in assessing credit applications and supporting the decision-making process. Being trusted to review client files, interpret credit policies and contribute to assessments has been incredibly rewarding. I have particularly enjoyed collaborating with sales and credit teams and understanding the commercial context behind each deal, with each applicant being unique and always something to learn.
Nawrin Islam
Business Operations Intern
I'm studying a Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Sydney.
I interned as part of the Sales Development team in Business Operations at SG Fleet. My role was really varied, which was the exact opportunity I was looking for. I got to work with lots of different teams across the business, helping to customer insights, analyse data, and report on KPIs. A big part of my work involved looking at how we could improve processes. Whether that was through automation or finding smarter ways of working. It gave me a great overview of how different parts of the business come together and how data can drive better decisions.
Definitely the project-based work. I really enjoyed being part of initiatives where I could see the direct impact of what I was doing. Whether it was helping to streamline a process or contributing to efficient stakeholder management that led to a new way of thinking, it felt really rewarding to know that my work was making a tangible difference. It’s also been a great way to apply learnings from university into a real-world setting.
Nicholas Ma
Accounting Intern
I studied Finance and Information Systems at UNSW.
I’m currently an Accounting Intern within the Global Finance team at SG Fleet. My day-to-day responsibilities include supporting month-end close activities, performing regular accounting tasks, and assisting with financial reporting. I work with various financial documents to ensure accuracy and consistency, and I conduct calculations that feed into key reports and reconciliations. In addition to routine tasks, I’ve also been involved in identifying opportunities to streamline reporting processes, which has allowed me to contribute to improving internal workflows and enhancing data reliability. My role requires a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving, and I’ve enjoyed collaborating with both finance and technical teams to ensure our outputs meet business needs.
One of the projects I’ve been involved in is the development of key financial reports. As the point of contact for the finance team, I’ve collaborated with developers to define reporting requirements and conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the reports are accurate and aligned with the business’s needs. During UAT, I’ve been responsible for validating data integrity, identifying discrepancies, and providing feedback to refine the final output. I loved how this project has given me the opportunity to apply my background in Finance and Information Systems in a meaningful way, while also gaining valuable experience in cross-functional collaboration.
Thomas Payne
Data & Analytics, Information Technology Intern
I'm currently a student at UNSW and have been studying a double degree in Commerce (Finance) & Computer Science.
During my time at SG Fleet I was interning within the Data & Analytics team. In this role, I got the chance to be involved in some really interesting projects, most notably the development of the Lakehouse platform both here in Australia & internationally. As part of this I've gotten the chance to build ELT pipelines for data extraction & transformation as we expand the platform to SG Fleet's operations in New Zealand & the UK as well optimise existing CI/CD pipeline processes to improve integration with the Databricks system.
The most enjoyable work I've done during my time at SG Fleet has been the items my manager has allowed me to take the lead on such as transitioning our data bricks workspace to our private network, constructing IaC pipelines from the ground up and leading training sessions to share knowledge with our teams overseas as we guide them through the process of creating their own lakehouses. Beyond these, I've also really enjoyed the learning opportunities I've had at SG Fleet, in particular where I've been able to sit in on Data Modelling sessions and attend training days run by our providers.
