  • BP Plus fuel card: Accepted at all BP service stations nationally.

  • Shell fuel card: Accepted at all Shell service stations nationally.

Ampol

Your Ampol fuel card will be automatically activated the first time you use it in-store. Simply choose your 4-digit PIN when prompted at the terminal. Once activated, you can access the Ampol app for additional convenience. Download the app and add your card once it has been activated.

BP

Your BP Plus fuel card also requires a PIN, which you will receive via text message. You can download the BP Plus app, which is ready for use as soon as you receive an SMS notification from BP.

Shell

Setting up your PIN is easy and is done during your first transaction at a Shell-branded service station, Shell Coles Express, or Shell Reddy Express. Just select a four-digit PIN and enter it three times to activate your Shell Card.

Buying fuel

With all fuel cards, you have the option of either paying at the pump using the relevant app or presenting your fuel card in-store. When paying using the app, please remember to open the app and check it is working before filling up your vehicle. You will be prompted to enter your odometer reading at the time of transaction.

Rewards

You can earn points with BP Rewards when you pay with your BP Plus fuel card. You’ll have the choice to earn your points as BP Points or Qantas Points. Qantas Points can get you on your way to your next holiday, while BP Points are redeemable for BP purchases or David Jones eGift cards. Please note, currently purchases made through the BP Plus app are unable to earn reward points.

If I use an alternative mechanic, can I submit a reimbursement?

Yes. If you choose to use your own mechanic, simply pay them directly, keep a valid tax invoice and click on My Package > Request reimbursement.

It’s important to have a clear understanding of what to do in the unfortunate event of an accident. This will help you make informed decisions at the scene as well as inform your legal obligations.

Regardless of if you have SG Fleet Insurance or if you’ve organised your own comprehensive insurance, below are a few tips to ensure you are covered for insurance claim purposes:

  1. You must stop if involved in an accident. Your policy may be affected if you fail to stop. If any person is injured, property (other than vehicles) or livestock is damaged, you must report the accident to the police.

  2. Notify the emergency services. Call 000 (or the emergency services number in your local area) if any person is injured, property is damaged or if there is a hazard to traffic. You must report the accident to the police if the owner of any of the vehicles or property is not present.

  3. Record all the details. Make a note of relevant details including location of accident, time, any property damage, weather conditions, etc.

              • Record all registration numbers of all vehicles involved.

              • Ask for all driver, passenger and witness names, addresses, and contact phone numbers.

              • Request driver’s licence numbers from all drivers.

              • You must also provide your details to the other people involved in the accident.

  4. Do not admit liability: Do not admit fault to anyone. Only discuss the accident with the police or other emergency service personnel, as you may not be aware of all the circumstances of the accident.

Have insurance through SG Fleet?

If your insurance is arranged with SG Fleet, please call tel:13001382351300 138 235 and follow the prompts as soon as possible.

Our after hour service will also take limited details and provide assistance where required. Your details will be passed to the Insurer for completion of your claim.

Have your own comprehensive insurance policy?

If your insurance is not arranged with SG Fleet, please call your insurer directly and advise them of the details.

When you set up your novated lease, you choose budgets for things like fuel/charging, maintenance, and registration.

Throughout your lease, we monitor your budget and balance to ensure you have enough to cover upcoming expenses for the items above. However, we understand that life changes. Maybe you’re driving more or taking unpaid leave. These shifts can affect your spending.

If you notice changes in your travel or expenses, please get in touch. We’ll help you adjust your budgets so you can get the most out of your novated lease.

To learn more, visit Help centre > Balance and transactions, or go to My balance to see how your lease is tracking.

There may be times when you need to pay for some of your expenses directly and request reimbursement.

To submit your expenses, keep a valid tax invoice and click on My Package > Request reimbursement. Or visit Help centre > Reimbursement to learn more.

Yes. If you’re moving to a new employer, you can transfer your existing novated lease and continue to enjoy the convenience of your current lease arrangement without interruption.

To transfer your lease, please fill in this form.

Our team will then reach out to you and your new employer to review the terms of your current lease and any transfer requirements.

If you’d like to pay out your lease and sell your car, please complete this form to use our free car appraisal tool through our TradeAdvantage program.

Once submitted, our team will be in touch with an offer to purchase your car.

If your circumstances have changed and you're considering exiting your lease early, please contact us directly. Our team will guide you through your options and next steps.

At the end of your lease, you’ll have what’s called a ‘residual value’ payment due. This is the amount owing on your car at this time and is calculated in accordance with the Australian Taxation Office.

Six months prior to your lease ending, our team will reach out to you to discuss your options and next steps. This may include:

  1. Novating a new car with SG Fleet;

  2. Refinancing the existing car for another term, or

  3. Paying out the residual value and owning your car outright.

We can also help you sell your vehicle through our hassle-free TradeAdvantage program.

The residual value is the amount that remains owing on the car at the end of the lease contract, including GST. This amount is calculated by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Once your lease term expires, you will need to either pay the residual value directly to the financier or choose to re-finance the lease for an additional term. Our team will reach out prior to your lease ending to discuss next steps.

6 weeks prior to your registration renewal, we will send you a renewal reminder through mySG. If you have a sufficient balance and do not opt-out of auto-renewal, we will automatically pay your registration and CTP on your behalf.

If, however, you have a negative balance that cannot cover the cost of the renewal or choose to opt-out of auto-renewal, you will be prompted to renew your registration directly with the relevant state authority. You can then submit a reimbursement request once your balance is sufficient.

If you opt-out of auto-renewal

Please remember it is your responsibility to ensure your car is always registered and comprehensively insured. It is important to note that driving an unregistered vehicle is illegal and this offence can attract significant fines. If your vehicle becomes unregistered, your Compulsory Third Party Insurance will be invalid. In the event of an accident, you may be held liable for damage or injury to other parties.

For any questions, please contact our team on 1300 138 235.
