In 2021, LeasePlan became part of SG Fleet Group, one of Australia’s leading providers of novated leasing and salary packaging.
We have now transitioned LeasePlan customers to SG Fleet to provide a more streamlined customer experience. Moving forward, all communication with us will be through SG Fleet.
Important information regarding Minor Damage Repair (MDR)
Per email communication sent between 15/8/2025 - 22/9/2025, if you previously selected MDR as one of your novated lease products, SG Fleet will remit on your behalf the outstanding MDR payment obligations for the remaining term of your lease and make future arrangements to apportion this from your package balance over a three-month period.
Most recently, you will have received an email advising that this MDR amount will be apportioned over the next three months. Starting from March 2026, and progressing through March, April and May, you will begin to see MDR deductions from your Repair and Maintenance budget. Please check your email for a specific breakdown.
What is Minor Damage Repair?
Our Minor Damage Repair (MDR) product enables you to drive with peace of mind knowing that unforeseen minor cosmetic scratches, dents and scuffs caused by everyday travels can be repaired at your convenience.

As part of our changeover from LeasePlan to SG Fleet, we are updating our billing cycle to align with your contract anniversary date under SG Fleet. This will help to ensure your salary sacrifice deductions are streamlined moving forward.
What’s changed?
To date, your LeasePlan lease payments have been made monthly. From December onwards, SG Fleet will calculate your payments based on the anniversary date of your lease instead of the calendar month. This change will make your charges simpler, more consistent with financial products in the market and will apply to invoices related to your lease rental, insurance, roadside assistance, fuel/charging, salary packaging fees and carbon-offset.
To help transition to this new billing cycle, we have requested a one-off payment adjustment to cover the period between your most recent LeasePlan monthly payment and the start of your SG Fleet anniversary billing cycle. Rest assured that moving forward your salary deductions will continue as per your current contract and the amount will remain consistent with what you have been paying.

As part of our changeover, we’re improving the way our lease information is reported.
With mySG, you can now check your balance whenever you like, giving you greater visibility to see when funds from your employer are received, and which expenses have been paid and those that are pending.
What’s changed?
Increased visibility of your package balance
We have adjusted your balance so that it displays the amount held by SG Fleet based on funds received from your employer and any expenses paid.
Previously, your monthly report showed the balance that we expected to receive from your employer in the near future. While this was generally a matter of timing, our previous reporting caused confusion when finalising and returning balances as we could only return the amount we had received. This is now rectified with the new balance reporting process.
Full transparency and access to see pending expense transactions
Upcoming transactions such as scheduled payments, or approved maintenance costs, will also be included in your balance calculation moving forward, helping you to manage your account more effectively and see if you have sufficient funds available to cover transactions as they become due.
For further questions on your balance, please contact a member of our team by submitting this form.
Yes. Rest assured that while the way we present your lease balance has changed to a more informative format, your existing service provisions and products remain in line with the most recent legal agreements and documents shared with you.
Unfortunately, only transaction statements from SG Fleet can be accessed through mySG. Previous LeasePlan transaction statements found in LeasePlan Online are no longer accessible.
Moving forward, you will begin to start to see transaction statements in mySG as they become applicable. For a copy of your previous transaction statement, please submit a request here.

If your annual registration and CTP renewal is due before April 2026, we’ll automatically pay the relevant state authority and renew this on your behalf.
For future renewals, thereafter, please be aware that renewals will only be automatically paid if you have sufficient funds in your package balance at that time. We’ll send an email with renewal instructions as you get closer to the upcoming renewal date.
We understand the importance of data security and are committed to keeping your data safe and protected. We are proud to be ISO 27001 accredited, demonstrating our commitment to robust information security management and strict adherence to data protection standards to safeguard your sensitive information, throughout the transition to SG Fleet and beyond.
From 17 October 2025, if you select the vehicle handback option on early termination of your lease, you will be required to pay the following amounts when you return the vehicle:
One hundred dollars ($100) plus GST;
The reasonable cost of restoring the vehicle to good condition, if applicable;
The pro-rata balance for any remaining months related to the early return guarantee and premium (where applicable);
Any outstanding monthly rental or other amounts due under your lease;
Any deficit amount resulting from the settlement of your operating budgets (there will be a deficit if the actual costs associated with your lease exceed the budgeted amounts under your lease).
To avoid doubt, any surplus amount resulting from the settlement of your operating budgets will be used to offset the amounts you owe on handback.
If you would like a breakdown of how these amounts are calculated under the updated vehicle handback option, please speak to a member of our team. For further information, please refer to the email you will have received between 15/8/2025-22/9/2025.
If you have selected Roadside Assistance, you are now eligible for our premium offering (previously this was standard). The premium Roadside Assistance tier is charged monthly, rather than annually. As a result:
There will be a refund in your package displaying the unused portion from your last annual Roadside Assistance membership.
From December 2025 onwards, you will see a monthly membership charge for Roadside Assistance moving forward.
For further information on the benefits of our premium Roadside Assistance service features, please refer here.
As part of the transition, we’ve improved the way Residual Value (RV) is shown. With LeasePlan, the Residual Value (RV) was previously shown with GST added (for example: $10,000 plus GST).
Moving forward, you’ll see your RV displayed inclusive of GST (for example: $10,000 including GST) for improved clarity.
For any questions, or if you need more information following our transition, please call 1300 138 235 or email novatedservice@sgfleet.com
