Packing with purpose: SGWN drives change through Share the Dignity partnership
The SG Fleet Women’s Network (SGWN) has proudly partnered with Share the Dignity, a national charity working to end period poverty and support women and girls experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or financial hardship. Through a series of impactful initiatives across 2025, SGWN demonstrated its commitment to community support, dignity, and inclusion.
Dignity Drives – March & August
Twice a year, SGWN participated in Share the Dignity’s Dignity Drive, placing donation boxes in every SG Fleet office across Australia. Staff were encouraged to donate essential items such as pads, tampons, menstrual cups, period undies, reusable pads, and incontinence aids. These donations were collected by Share the Dignity volunteers and distributed to local charities, ensuring women in need can access basic hygiene products.
Brisbane’s Onsite Bag Packing – July
In a special one-off event, SG Fleet’s Brisbane team was invited to the Share the Dignity office, located just around the corner, to participate in an Onsite Bag Packing session.
Normally a paid event, the fee was waived in recognition of SGWN’s ongoing support.
Annual Packing Event – September
September saw SG Fleet Brisbane take part in the annual Packing Event, held in a local school hall. Staff, friends, and even children volunteered their time, packing 1,008 bags filled with essential items. These bags were distributed nationwide to charity partners supporting women and girls facing homelessness or domestic violence. The event fostered a strong sense of community and purpose, with SGWN leading the charge.
To close the year, SGWN look forward to contributing to the 'It’s in the Bag' campaign, donating not only period products but also personal care items and toiletries. These will be packed into bags and distributed in the lead-up to Christmas, offering dignity and hope to women living in crisis during the holiday season.
Success Factors Behind SGWN’s Impact
Through these initiatives, SGWN has not only supported women in need but also fostered a culture of compassion and action within SG Fleet. The partnership with Share the Dignity continues to be a powerful example of how corporate networks can drive real change in the community.
