Fleet leadership in action: SG Fleet’s Bryce Grove awarded Workplace Champion
By SG Fleet | 14 April 2026
We’re excited to share that Bryce Grove, National Manager of Trade Operations at SG Fleet, was recently awarded the Workplace Champion Award at the Financial Services Federation Awards, recognising nearly two decades of sustained fleet leadership, and more than 30 years in the leasing and fleet sector.
Leading through change
As employee number one when SG Fleet New Zealand launched in 2007, Bryce has seen first-hand how the fleet sector has changed and continues to change at a rapid pace. Through the shift from straightforward lease cycles to environments shaped by sustainability targets, financial scrutiny and data-led decision-making, Bryce acknowledged in his acceptance speech that “We’re not just leasing vehicles anymore – we’re enabling mobility, sustainability and smarter business decisions”.
A champion for people
The Workplace Champion Award recognises more than commercial success. It reflects leadership behaviours that shape culture.
“This award (is) about the people I work with every day who challenge the status quo, who care deeply about doing things better.”
“(It) means a lot because it celebrates the kind of work that doesn’t always come with fanfare – the quiet persistence, the problem-solving, the ‘can you just quickly look at this?’ moments”, Bryce said.

Connected vehicle technology and the future of mobility
After nearly 20 years of operational leadership, Bryce continues to play a central role in SG Fleet’s trade operations, while also contributing to the broader strategic direction of the business.
The expertise he has built through decades working in the fleet and leasing industry remain critical to the team, particularly as the sector continues to evolve through connected vehicle technology and the role of telematics in shaping a future-proofed fleet management strategy.
As organisations continue to respond to evolving fleet industry trends, data will play a central role in improving utilisation, compliance and long-term asset performance, ensuring that connected vehicle technology supports better decision making, a stronger mobility strategy and measurable outcomes for customers.
“I want to create space to influence direction, mentor emerging leaders and help SG Fleet stay ahead of where mobility is going,’” Bryce said.
